Broncho’s album “Can’t Get Past The Lips” starts with distorted vocals screqam, “Pick a fight! Pick a fight!” before the opening track, appropriately titled, “Pick A Fight”. This might be one of the best garage rock bands I’ve heard in a long time. I love this singer’s voice. These guitar tones are all totally appropriate for the genre, but the vocals are way better and much more legible than normal.
I’m not sure at all what the tag of 1982 means, but that’s what Tulsa, Oklahoma band Jürgen Müller decided to use on the album “Science Of The Sea”. This is a very pretty album.
If I had to narrow it down, I'd say it's probably the guitar tones above all else that make The Kamals' dark, gritty psychedelic rock as addictive as it is. But there's plenty to love about their self-titled debut EP, especially for those up on the Clutch tip.

Explorgasm from Deerpeople is one of the best things I’ve discovered about the Oklahoma music scene as a whole. They called it folktronica, and it’s absolutely wonderful. These folks are from Stillwater, and there are at least six of them. I’m a big fan of large bands. These guys seem to play really often, and they’re heading down to SXSW to play at J. Black’s Feel Good Lounge with other great bands like Grand and Noble and Elsa Rae.
